Etna Park

Etna Park is the first of the Sicilian parks, created in 1987. It covers an area of 59,000 hectares and its mission is to protect the unique natural environment and the extraordinary landscape that surrounds Etna (the highest active volcano in Europe) and to promote the sustainable development of the local population and communities.

At the heart of the park is Etna, with its rocky border, 250 km in length, height of approx. 3350 m and a surface area of around 1260 square km. There are twenty municipal areas located inside the park

The Park's new logo is inspired by the geological history of the volcano and the biological diversity of its landscape.

The symbols used are in fact a clear homage to the constant transformation and immortality of nature, such as the volcano, its genesis, the eruption, the leaf as a symbol of nature, the flower and the butterfly.
